As the world moves closer to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), millions of people are facing an increasingly difficult reality: the rising cost of simply staying alive. Across both developing and developed nations, inflation, soaring food prices, housing challenges, and economic uncertainty are placing immense pressure on households. This article explores how the global cost-of-living crisis is reshaping lives, why survival has become more expensive than ever, and why urgent, collective action is needed to build a more affordable, equitable, and sustainable future for everyone.
